The Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB), in collaboration with the European Forest Institute (EFI), NexLaw Advocates and BizyTech a technology company in Tanzania that provides innovative solutions for agriculture and non-financial digital needs held the second stakeholder workshop on 15 September 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the preparedness of Tanzania’s coffee sector for the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
The workshop focused on the legal requirements governing coffee production and trade in Tanzania, their level of implementation in practice, and possible due diligence measures to address areas of potential non-compliance.
The workshop built on the first stakeholder engagement held in June 2026, during which relevant national legal requirements were reviewed and validated.
Participants from Government institutions and the coffee sector shared practical experience and provided input on the assessed level of implementation of the identified legal requirements and the feasibility of the proposed due diligence measures.
The outcomes of the workshop will contribute to the development of a Legal Due Diligence Framework for the Tanzanian Coffee Sector, aimed at supporting stakeholders in meeting EUDR legality and traceability requirements.
